2009 STEM HI Leadership Program Launch

Thanks to a partnership with complex administrators from the Pearl City school district, isisHawaii launched it's newest project, the STEM Hawaii Leadership Program, at Highlands Intermediate School. The Pearl City Complex STEM Consortium, led by Highlands Principal, Ms. Amy Martinson, will be working with isisHawaii over the next year to implement project-based STEM curricula and workshops to excite students about science- and math-based pathways.

The Pearl City STEM Consortium includes Highlands Intermediate, Pearl City High, Lehua Elementary, Waiau Elementary and Pearl City Elementary Schools.

The early February launch began with a 3-dimensional computer aided technologies course facilitated by industry trainer, Collin Kobayashi - CEO of 3D Innovations, LLC. Mr. Kobayashi will work with Highlands science faculty members to integrate applied math and science curriculum through exercises using 3D computer aided design and prototyping.
